About
My path into technology leadership started early — as a homegrown hacker and BBS operator, then building and running an ISP. From there I moved into corporate systems integration, and eventually into consulting for the Government of Canada, with a twenty-year focus on the Department of National Defence.
Across that career I've worn the hats of technical architect, project and program manager, and security engineer — often at the same time. I've led the implementation of and migration to an international classified network, managed a department-wide desktop upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, and built a PMO from scratch inside a core IM/IT engineering shop.
More recently, I launched a Cloud Program as both program manager and lead technical architect — a role in which I remain a senior strategic advisor — while holding ongoing leadership over Azure/Entra and GCP environments. At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I led the technical implementation of Microsoft 365 for 140,000 users. Security engineering and risk management have been a constant thread through all of it.
On the entrepreneurial side, I serve as CTO and CSO of HubSpoke Inc., a staffing augmentation boutique based in Ottawa, Ontario. ThinkFWD is my dedicated fractional practice, loosely affiliated with HubSpoke, built to bring that same dual technology-and-security judgment to organizations that need it part-time.
